For the first time ever, the work of 50 Ottawa-based photographic artists will be on display, as a part of the CONTACT Photography Festival! This historic exhibition will take place in Toronto at Arta Gallery at 14 Distillery Lane.

For this exhibition, the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa (SPAO) has curated a show that merges work from Exhibition No. 12 with work by alumni, staff and faculty from the school's 12-year history. The City of Ottawa has graciously opened their collection and archive in order to realize this important celebration. The City has a long history of collecting the work of SPAO students, alumni, staff, and faculty as a part of its Direct Purchase Program, and many of the works featured in this exhibition will be from the City's collection.

Each artist in this exhibition has produced their own individualized work that draws from traditional and contemporary photographic techniques and ideas. Established to advance knowledge, creativity, and innovation in photography, SPAO is a not-for-profit photographic-arts school and a registered private career college in Ottawa, Canada.
