Sandy Potter
Sandy Potter is a South African figurative artist living and working in Toronto. Sandy enjoys exploring the effect of light at the intersection of line and colour where different levels of vibration appear to be created, enhancing that sense of life and movement.
Sandy Potter studied Fine Arts at Wits University in the '60s, and psychology at Unisa, in the '70s. They emigrated to Canada from South Africa in '89 at which time he followed a career as an entrepreneur. She is now focusing entirely on my art. The artist believes that we are all a part of each other and of everything around us... vibrating molecules, positive and negative energy, give and take, push and pull... light and dark... both physically and spiritually. This belief is reflected throughout Sandy Potter's work in both his line and paint... there are no clear cut hard edges... instead, a constant movement and search for an end and a beginning, a separation between existences in time and space, where light reflects and where absorbed.
