Natasha Lehman

Natasha Lehman is a landscape painter that paints primarily in oils, with occasional use of watercolors, collages, acrylic, and pastels.   Her subject matter of interest is the Canadian Landscape.  Many of her works include the forests and beaches of Vancouver Island, the desert scenes of Osoyoos BC, the iconic Canadian images of Banff and Jasper island, as well as Georgian Bay and other rural Ontario scenes.   

She is inspired by other artists whose work reflects their connection to their land and the portrayal of a mood or feeling that accompanies the land.  In particular, she is inspired by Joan Eardly, Tom Thomson, Emily Carr, and Georgia O’Keefe. She likes a quick, gestural style with intuitive use of color to reflect the emotion. Her work can be abstract, semi-abstract, or representational, depending on her reaction to the places.  She is grateful to live in Canada and be inspired by these beautiful spots in nature.  Her hope is that the paintings give the viewer the same sense of peace and serenity that she feels in nature.
