STREETS OF CINE - May 17 - 31, 2006
Photography by Sam Chan
Opening Reception: Wednesday, May 17, 6-9pm
Globalization is nothing new. To talk about it is to explore the need to conquer new territory and expand one’s interconnections which has existed since our very beginning. It is as deeply ingrained into the human condition as any living creature’s need to survive. With the Streets of Cine series of photo montages, Sam tackles the concepts of relationships, interconnections, progression, and “fiction as non-fiction” through cinematic, narrative sequences. Exhibiting as part of the CONTACT 2006 Toronto Photography Festival. The photojournalistic approach to globalization Has Been Done – It’s time for something different.
