REVIVED TEXTILES: A RESURGENCE OF NORTHERN IRAN'S PRECIOUS TEXTILES - December 3 - 5, 2010
Leyla Kashani
For centuries the women of Guilan in Northern Iran, have maintained the art of weaving. As much a means of social expression as of sustainable economy, this craft, like many others in the world, is under the brink of extinction.
Arta Gallery invites you to a special event presenting Persian-Canadian fashion designer Leyla Kashani. Her “Revived Textile Collection” of clothing, home décor and accessories features the precious textiles of rural Iranian weavers and works to raise awareness of this endangered art form.
