"Revived Textiles", A Design show by Leyla Kashani - December 03, 2010

For centuries the women of Guilan in Northern Iran, have maintained the art of weaving.  As much a means of social expression as of sustainable economy, this craft, like many others in the world, is under the brink of extinction.

Arta Gallery is proud to present the Persian-Canadian fashion designer, Leyla Kashani. Her “Revived Textile Collection” of clothing, home décor and accessories, features the precious textiles of rural Iranian weavers.  She hopes these works will raise awareness of this endangered art form.
