Well traveled and artistically trained both in Canada and Europe, Wheeler holds a diploma in Design Arts from Seneca College in Toronto, Canada, studied conceptual art at Byam Shaw School in London, UK and life drawing at Lorenzo d’Medici School of Art in Florence, Italy.
A sensitive painter who spent a year painting street scenes in Saudi Arabia, her “Impressions of the Middle East” exhibition became a creative catalyst towards her development as an artist. Wheeler has exhibited her work in New York, Toronto, Tokyo, Nashville, Jeddah and Vancouver. An impressive list of extensive exhibitions and awards of excellence in painting, collaborations with collectors and representation from Agora Gallery are a testament to her talent.
Working from her farmhouse in northern Ontario, Jan opens her Barrie studio to the public during the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. She has appeared in numerous publication reviews and collections and currently has her work for sale at the Norman Felix Gallery, located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
